"Argon is merely the catalyst that affords me the ability to engage in my current ambitions of establishing the world's first non-for profit for non for profits. I believe I've found a way in which we will see the world donate a trillion dollars and a trillion man hours to worthy causes from around the globe over the next few years and beyond. It has always been my goal to become wealthy so I can give much of it away like Bill and Melinda or the likes of Warren, who are all renowned for their philanthropic endeavours.. I believe I've found a better way to do that than to simply earn it myself and distribute it and Argon is at the helm to see my vision come to life along with a core group of West Australians who've been key instigators in this mission. It seems surreal that in the same year I receive a nomination for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award."
The creation of Argon was that of a vision by then CEO Paul Deuchar in the early 2000's whose goal was to bring robotic mining solutions to WA before the resource sector even realised that that was exactly what was missing in this multi-billion dollar industry. Narrowly escaping the GFC and now in full flight post harsh financial and slim opportunistic climates, Argon is clearly on track to fulfilling it's legacy of pioneering robotic engineering and processing in the mining sector and the philanthropic passions it allows. At the heart of it all is Paul himself.
"It's been a tough road to navigate.. the road less travelled has always been my course. It's not always worked out well for me but at 32 I'm seeing the visions I built for so long turning into reality. It's truly amazing."
Paul Deuchar will be present at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the second year running this year on the 9th of August in his hometown of Perth.
