Miami, FL (PRBuzz.com
) May 23, 2012 -- Michael Keister and his 6-year-old son, Gabe, have witnessed first-hand what a difference their hard-work and dedication make in the fight to end world hunger. After recently spending a full day together with Stop Hunger Now, packaging emergency meals at the C-Level Management food-packaging event in Santa Ana, CA, Keister and son are at it again...this time with checkbook in hand.
"After we spent a day with this organization last month and met so many amazing and deserving individuals, we were hooked," says Keister. "Gabe and I both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were amazed at the impact our contribution has the lives of those that depend on Stop Hunger Now for their next meal."
Stop Hunger Now facilitates the distribution of food and emergency supplies to approximately 37 countries affected by famine, flooding and other disasters. In 2011, there were more than 17.88 million meals packaged by volunteers just like Michael and Gabe.
As a businessman, Keister knows that while volunteers are the heart of organizations like Stop Hunger Now, they require monetary support to operate.
"While Gabe and I are going to volunteer when we are able, we provide financial support to Stop Hunger Now because we believe in what they are doing and want to do what we can to help ensure the organization can continue its mission," says Keister. "While every little bit counts, it's simply amazing just how far they are able to stretch the funds to make sure people around the world are thriving."
