Maine Distributor to Deliver New Green Technology For Oil Fired Boilers
Published: 05/22/12 07:30 AM EDT

BANGOR, Maine, May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CavitroniX™, creator of the E2C® (emulsion-to-combustion) System, announced today that Sullivan and Merritt Constructors, Inc. has been appointed primary distributor and service provider in Maine for CavitroniX's E2C®  Systems.

"A common goal of conserving fuel while protecting the environment has united two leading companies in the distribution of breakthrough technology," said Lance Pelter, senior vice president of marketing at CavitroniX. "With their extensive customer base and over 200 employees statewide, Sullivan and Merritt Constructors are well positioned to hit the ground running to begin delivering environmentally friendly fuel efficiency and cost savings to their customers. We are pleased to add Sullivan and Merritt to the CavitroniX™ distributor family."

The innovative CavitroniX E2C® System improves the efficiency of oil-fired boilers and generator systems. Sullivan and Merritt Constructors, Inc. is a leading, Bangor-based, industrial mechanical-and-electrical systems service company with more than 35 years of relevant experience providing high-quality service.

The CavitroniX E2C® system mixes water with oil to create an emulsion at the point of use, improving the efficiency of industrial boilers. The process causes the oil to burn more completely, resulting in reduced emissions and lower fuel costs. E2C® is installed as an upgrade to an existing fuel oil-fired boiler or furnace and can also be used with diesel generators or on diesel-powered marine vessels. The resulting savings in fuel consumption can be as high as 15 percent. Most commercial users see a positive return on investment through reduced fuel costs within 12 to 18 months.

"The benefits and value of the E2C® system have convinced us to break with tradition," said Jon Lee, Sullivan and Merritt's CEO. "It is not often that a device becomes available that can both lower costs and provide cleaner emissions. For the first time in 35 years, we'll offer a commercial product to our customers."

"Our unique ability to provide a single point of service, handling the mechanical, electrical and plumbing requirements for installation and on-going service, make this an excellent partnership," said Lance Leavitt, president of Sullivan and Merritt. "CavitroniX and Sullivan and Merritt Constructors will benefit—but more importantly, our customers will benefit."

Cost savings that may be realized through use of the E2C® System include the following:

  • Reduced boiler maintenance due to less soot produced, less internal accumulation and less emitted through the stack;
  • Better heat exchange due to less soot buildup in boiler tubes;
  • More energy obtained from a gallon of fuel due to secondary atomization and more complete combustion;
  • No de-rating of boiler or engine;
  • Reduced environmental fines/equipment, depending on user's level of environmental compliance.
