The Green Insurance Company has boosted its personal lines portfolio with the introduction of a home insurance product which will offset one tonne of each policy holder's household emissions annually free of charge. Customers with "green" homes, those fitted with solar panels or wind turbines, will also receive extra discounts.

The insurance intermediary, part of the Kwik-Fit Financial Services Group based in Uddingston, launched in 2007 and offers consumers a number of environmentally friendly products including car, motorbike, breakdown and pet insurance.
