Overall, this week's patents While the first half of the categories list is a mirror image of the patents issued on May 15, 2012, the second half is a different story. Electricity - Basic Electronic Circuitry, Performing Operations; Transporting - Physical Or Chemical Processes Or Apparatus In General and Mechanical Engineering; Lighting; Heating; Weapons; Blasting are all new to the list this week.
Those following the weekly report won't be surprised to see International Business Machines Corporation at the top of the assignees list. More noteworthy is Samsung's big jump from the number 9 spot last week to number 2 this week. Kabushiki Kaisha Toshiba took over General Electric's number 6 spot, and Hitachi, Ltd. regained its top 10 status while Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. dropped back off the list all together.
There's a whole new list of top 10 inventors, and even though no one got as many patents as last week's top spots, the overall number of patents the inventors received is higher this week.
