EMERYVILLE, Calif., June 1, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On June 1, 2012, CEP America's hospitalist division, Galen Inpatient Physicians, began staffing the inpatient service at Memorial Hospital Los Banos (MHLB), CA. CEP America, one of the nation's largest providers of acute care management solutions, already partners with the emergency department (ED) at MHLB. With the addition of the inpatient department, the hospital can expect to see more integrated throughput processes and significant quality of care improvements.
The hospitalist program will be responsible for providing care to "unassigned" patients (those with no primary care physician) and to patients referred by MHLB medical staff.
"After working with CEP America in the emergency department, we were impressed with the improvements achieved in such a relatively short amount of time," said Richard Liszewski, Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Hospital Los Banos. "We knew CEP would offer the structure and processes to implement a highly effective hospitalist program for the local community."
Founded in 1975, CEP America provides hospitals with the clinical, staffing and management expertise necessary to improve clinical quality, efficiency and service across the acute care continuum. Since 2000, CEP America's hospitalist division, Galen Inpatient Physicians, has provided high-quality inpatient care to hospitals across the country. Together, they practice at over 100 sites of care in eight states treating over 4 million patients annually.
